MacGuffin

The Band

MacGuffin formed in early 2007 when ex-North By Northwesters Phil Dennison and Chris Noga decided that they had too much time on their hands and it was time to start playing music together again after almost a 15 year hiatus. Christened MacGuffin (they just HAD to keep a Hitchcock reference), they band initially consisted of Chris and Phil, Chris' youngest brother, Brian on guitar and original NxNW drummer Chris Carmon. MacGuffin played their first public gig in May 2007 at the Book & Bean in Berea for an off-campus Baldwin-Wallace College Alumni Weekend function. Soon after, Brian and Phil traded instruments, and the band played a few more gigs including one in May 2008 at the Cleveland Agora Ballroom before an Artful Dodger show in the Agora Theatre. Drummer Alan DeAmon joined first as a substitute in July 2008 and has since become the permanent drummer for MacGuffin. Alan suggested keyboardist Dan Georges for membership in summer 2009. Along with Dan came his lovely wife, Lisa on lead vocals. Rounding out the band is Chris and Phil's longtime friend and college mate, R. Todd Richards, also on lead vocals. This lineup, along with guest vocalist Leigh-Anne Dennison, played a two-hour set to celebrate Chris and Phil's 40th birthdays in November 2009. Brian Noga departed to devote himself to his cool new role of proud father of a baby girl and Phil returned to playing bass for the band. MacGuffin continues to have fun rehearsing new material in preparation for (hopefully) some more gigs.
